Coaches are for anyone who wants improved Performance in their Life. Said another way, it’s for anyone who has a goal and is Committed to taking Powerful Actions towards it.

While it is true that people do bring their problems to coaches hoping to find an answer, it is also true that people we consider to be high-achievers hire coaches. Consider Bill Gates who started off his 2013 TED Talk with the following:

Everyone needs a Coach … We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.

Bill Gates. Teachers need feedback

Most of us want some form of improvement in our lives whether it’s in the field of relationships, money or running an international charity organization. We can all imagine how our life would look if it were 1% better, or even 100% better. Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, shared that one of the best pieces of advice he’s ever received was to hire a Coach. Here’s what he has to say:

Every famous athlete, every famous performer, has somebody who’s a Coach. Somebody who can watch what they’re doing and say “Is that what you really meant? Did you really do that thing?” [and] give them perspective. The one thing that people are never good at is seeing themselves as others see them. A Coach really, really helps.

Very often what’s in the way of improved Performance (and our better life) is something that we are doing (or not doing). Working with a Coach gives you the Awareness to know when you are doing something that’s stopping you and the Power to choose differently.

Taking Consistent, Powerful Actions is imperative for living the Life you are Committed to having for yourself.
